If you enjoy walking, leave your car in our forecourt and enjoy the many miles of footpaths that can be accessed directly from our doorstep. A little further afield you can enjoy panoramic views from the top of the Malvern Hills.
In the neighbouring village of Much Marcle you can learn how cider is made, and taste the produce on a tour of Westons Cider Mill. The historic house of Hellens is open from Easter until the end of September.
The Cathedral cities of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester are all approximately half an hour’s drive. The Regency town of Cheltenham is approxiately 40 minutes drive.
We are also convenient for the Wye valley – enjoy a river trip at Symonds Yat and the views from Yat Rock.
The local town of Ledbury has many old timber framed buildings, museums and tearooms.
The area offers many cultural events, including plays, concerts and films at the Malvern Theatres. The area is also home to the annual Three Choirs Festival.
If you enjoy historic houses, visit Hellens or one of the nearby National Trust properties, including Berrington Hall and Croft Castle – both near Leominster, or the exquisite Brockhampton Estate near Bromyard.
If you like castles, the Welsh Marches is an area rich in history. Within easy reach you will find Goodrich Castle, Skenfrith Castle, Grosmont Castle, and Eastnor Castle (a stunning historic house set in extensive grounds).
There is so much to do in the surrounding area that you will wish you had stayed longer.
Gardens
If you enjoy visiting gardens, there are several places within easy reach of Hall End.
Pay a visit to Holloways at Suckley, possibly Britain’s largest collection of garden ornaments and conservatory furniture.
Gardens you might like to visit include How Caple Court, Hampton Court (no, not the one on the Thames, this one is near Leominster), ask Angela for a copy of the Yellow “Gardens Open” book as there are usually a selection of gardens open to the public.
In the Autumn, Picton Gardens in Colwall is a riot of colour with the National Collection of Michaelmas Daisies.
